Hearthbound, a New Queer Audio Drama, Reimagines The Odyssey and Announces Kickstarter Campaign

Brooklyn, NY - 12/01/22 — Crowdfunding for Hearthbound, a new queer audio drama reimagining Homer’s The Odyssey, launches December 13 on Kickstarter. Incorporating folk music and set across a soft-post-apocalyptic Great Basin, Hearthbound tells a story about returning home different from when you left and asks whether it’s worth returning at all.

Hearthbound’s creative team and cast feature alumni from beloved audio dramas such as Archive 81 and The Strange Case of Starship Iris. The Kickstarter campaign closes on January 11 and aims to raise $10,000 to cover production costs.

"In a modern era marked by increased isolation, I wanted to tell a story about connection and hope", said Jo Chiang, writer and producer of Hearthbound. “And how better to do that than a road trip across one of the most beautiful and lonely expanses in the lower forty-eight.”
